Dear Friends,
With the greatest sadness I would like to inform you that last week my great friend Irek passed away after long, 3-years illness. We’ve been a crew on FD POL-7 since 2008. In 1975 we became a friends in Yacht Club of Poland, starting from Cadet. Irek sailed for many years on 470 having lots of titles and awards not only in Poland. He was a person with very strong character and personality, demanding as a helm and, at the same time, very helpful to all FD sailors. We lost good friend and irreplaceable mentor. Sailing has been always on top of his activities. He managed to attend a lot of regatta, as you can remember, at the same time having intensive and successful business life and trips around the world with his wife. We met on 02. May, planning next regatta in autumn this year… The sailing will never be the same for me without Irek on board.
