“I’m Svend Vieweg, born in Reichenbach, married and 54 years old. 3 childrens and 3 grandchildrens are part of my family, and i’ma  electronic engineer at Continental AG Germany. Since my 10th birthday  my sailing carrer started on a wood made Optimist on a small water dam near my home town. After 2 years i’ve found a helmsman for sailing on a 420 class. After the youth sailing period ended by my 19th birthday  we cange to the local east german sailing class XY. After fall of the wall i change to the FD class with various helms. With the IFDCO VP Development i would like to support sailors on samll countries to enjoy the fantastic sailing with a Flying dutchman.”
Svend Vieweg

“I’m 55 years old, born in Florence where I live. I’m working at University as professor of Supply Chain Management. I have three sons, 22, 4 and 2  years. I’ve been sailing since I was 14 starting from Laser and then moving to FD as crew in the ’80 (when the boat was olimpic class). After spending these years on dinghies, I move on big boats and I took part in two America’s Cup campaigns (1984 with Azzurra and 2001 with Mascalzone Latino) as navigator because I’m keen on electronics.
After that I went back to my main work, university, and started spending less time sailing and racing. I sail back (after my young time…) on a FD the summer 2012 by chance and then I decided to fully dedicate my sailing time to our class. Nowadays I do not sail and race anymore on big boats and spend all my time practicing and racing with ITA 10.”
