Day 4 of the FD World Championship 2026 brought another waiting day for the fleet in Kiel-Schilksee.

Unfortunately, at 09:00, AP was hoisted. Later, at around 14:00, AP over A was displayed for all classes, ending the racing program for the day.

By late morning, the temperature in the shade had reached 35°C, so many sailors cooled off in the sea while waiting and trying to get through the heat.

No racing is always disappointing, but the Flying Dutchman class made good use of the time ashore. The National Secretaries’ meeting took place during the day, followed by the AGCM.

In the evening, the sailors met in the harbour at the measurement tent, where a nice surprise was waiting for them: personalized glass water bottles.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed time together, with music played on guitars by two FD sailors from Germany and plenty of conversation before the final day of the championship.

Tomorrow brings an early start, with the Flying Dutchman fleet scheduled for Area Lima at 08:15.

We hope for enough wind to complete three more races and finish the championship on the water.
