Day 2 of the FD World Championship 2026 began with AP ashore, as the fleet waited for the wind to settle in Kiel-Schilksee.
Patience was once again the main item on the sailing menu. The whole FD fleet remained ashore for most of the day, waiting for a chance to race. Finally, at around 16:30, the Delta flag was raised and the fleet headed out to the race course.
One race was completed in very light and shifty wind. Conditions were far from easy, requiring concentration, careful boat handling and a good portion of patience.
Only one race, but at least the championship is now officially on the scoreboard.
We keep our fingers crossed for more wind and more racing tomorrow!
