FD Worlds – Race ticker 6 0 (0)

Mistral wind is still protagonist of the Flying Dutchman World Championship. The Final Series phase begins today, which will tomorrow decide the World Champion Flying Dutchman 2017 at Marina di Scarlino. Changes at the top of the standings, with the start of the finals. Tomorrow the last test.The FD Worlds continues in the waters of the Gulf of Follonica, with 102 registered vessels representing 16 nations.
The thermal breeze of Mistral has made it possible to dispute today also two beautiful regattas with medium-light intensity wind, around 8-10 knots. With the two of today’s races, the headings in the provisional rankings are canceled.

Today is the start of the final race series. The first warning signal is planned for 10:55. GER 87 Hans-Peter Schwarz and Roland Kirst are leaders of the Gold Fleet. Szabolcs Majthenyi and András Domokos with 7 points just one point behind them. Even the German/Dutch team Markhoff / van Koppen still have the chance to reach for the World Champions title. MARC GER172

We are pleased to confirm you that tomorrow it will be a LAY DAY, therefore NO RACING IS SCHEDULED!Do not forget that on FRIDAY 29 the WARNING SIGNAL will be given at 10:55!

Today, we all will take a breath and will get prepared for the Crew Dinner Party.

Here are the results of the second day:day2-classifica prov-p1p2p3p4 After the first race was sailed with a dying land breeze Hans-Peter Schwarz and Roland Kirst GER 87 took over the lead from Szabolcs Majthenyi and András Domokos HUN 70. Todays races 5 and 6 will decide who will sail the final three races in the gold and silver fleet. The wether ist warm and sunny, so we are expecting a sea breeze in the afternoon with strong wind and waves. Keep fingers crossed and watch us on metasail. Race 5 is scheduled for 11:55 MARC GER172
